At the age of five, Donna Drake learned to play musical instruments, and after attending school, she performed shows in cabarets which drew the attention of Broadway. She signed with Paramount Company, and her first work was Alonma of the South Seas (). She also had some roles in television shows until she retired in due to heart disease, epilepsy, and some emotional problems.
