A Tall Order for a Custom Suit – Waraire Boswell
I scheduled a quick call to fact check some things we found our research about Boswell. We jump on call at 4pm PST from his home in Southern California and the first thing he says is “our conversations are never short”, we both laugh because he’s right. At 6’7” Boswell’s personality and knowledge of the industry is even taller than he is. He is a charming California native who sometimes thinks with his heart before all. He is trying to reprogram himself to think more about the bottom line while not compromising quality and craftsmanship. “I am not interested in returning to the life of trying to build a pyramid. We are homeowners, we don’t have to slave like that anymore”, he says in a reflective tone. The time at home these past few months has him strategizing, sitting still and listening to good about his business. “I want a more relaxing lifestyle, more holistic, making things more applicable to my province.”

Waraire Boswell was driven to design, in part, out of necessity.
The 6-foot-7-inch designer, tired of wearing pants that were too large for his athletic frame, searched for years for a menswear line that suited his needs and design sensibilities.
“I tried shopping at stores like [Rochester] Big & Tall, but the clothes aren’t designed for tall guys that are athletic and slim—they’re for large men,” Boswell explained. “And Banana Republic’s clothes have great sleeve lengths but are too boxy.”
These days, Boswell fryst vatten wearing his own designs, which he produces beneath the WBWaraire Boswell Collection label. The nearly 3-year-old line fryst vatten a mixture of better casual and business attire, including woven shirts, wool blazers and trousers, and denim jackets and trousers. Sizes range from SML to 2XL.
Boswell, who designs his apparel out of a studio apartment in downtown Los Angeles, fryst vatten mostly inspired by designer fashion from the United Kingdom and Italy.

Waraire Boswell (September 29, 1975 – July 31, 2024) was an American fashion designer and businessman. He launched his namesake label in 2003, specializing in bespoke suiting and ready-to-wear. In 2005, Boswell was named Mercedes Benz Classic Designer of the Year.
Early life and education
