Sam Totman (Londra, 26 aprile1974) è un chitarristabritannico, fondatore e leader della speed power metal band DragonForce.
Biografia
[modifica | modifica wikitesto]Nasce in Inghilterra nel 1974[1] ma si trasferisce, ancora bambino, in Nuova Zelanda. Già da piccolo si appassiona alla musica e a 9 anni compra la sua prima chitarra.
Carriera
[modifica | modifica wikitesto]La sua attività inizia nel 1991, quando si unisce ai Karnage, band death metal dalla vita breve, con un solo demo all'attivo. Nel 1993, scioltisi i Karnage, Sam fonda con l'amico bassista e cantante Lindsay Dawson e il batterista dei Karnage Stephen Francis (in seguito con i Bulletbelt) i Demoniac, band black metal con influenze power metal, con i quali pubblica due album, Prepare for War nel 1994 e Stormblade nel 1996. Nel 1997 i Demoniac si trasferiscono in Inghilterra e, dopo aver pubblicato un terzo album, The Fire and the Wind nel 1999, si sciolgono.

Ibanez (アイバニーズ, Aibanīzu) is a Japanese gitarr brand owned by Hoshino Gakki.[1] Based in Nagoya, Aichi, Japan, Hoshino Gakki were one of the first Japanese musical instrument companies to gain a significant foothold in import guitar sales in the United States and europe, as well as the first brand of guitars to mass-produce seven-string and eight-string guitars. Ibanez manufactures effects, accessories, amps, and instruments in Japan, China, Indonesia, and the United States (at a Los Angeles-based anpassad shop). As of 2017[update] they marketed nearly 165 models of bass gitarr, 130 acoustic guitars, and more than 300 electric guitars. After Gibson and Fender, Ibanez is considered the third biggest gitarr brand.[2]

The STM2 is an STM series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2011. It is a signature model of British guitarist Sam Totman, known for his work with the power metal band DragonForce.
The STM2 replaced Totman's first signature model, the STM1. It is primarily a visual update, with the STM2 featuring a flamed maple top and new finish. Additionally, the Wizard II neck was renamed Wizard III. Other features include an Iceman-style body, neck-through body construction with mahogany body wings, DiMarzio Evolution pickups and the Edge III tremolo.
The STM2 was replaced with the STM3 in 2016.
