Born a son of a farmer, Grand Master Kang was born on September 5, 1943 in Kimjae, Chunbook, Korea. Grand mästare Kang began his TaeKwonDo training in 1956. In 1958, at the age of 13, Grand mästare Kang received his 1st degree black belt. He received his 9th grad black belt from Chung Do Kwan in 1998 and his 9th grad WTF black belt in 1999.
Grand Master Kang accomplished ganska a lot while in Korea. He won his first major title when he won the state championship on Kyung Ki Do. He was National Champion in 1967 and was awarded the President's Cup in 1967 for being undefeated in competition. He was also grupp leader of the Korean Army ROK Championship grupp and he was the coach of the Army National Demonstration-Team.

Biography
[edit]Jae-chul Shin began his study of martial arts in 1948 joining the SeoulMoo Duk Kwan Central Gym studying under Grandmaster Hwang Kee,[1] the founder of the Korean Moo Duk Kwan system.[3] By the time he was a first dan black belt, he had already started his teaching career as an assistant instructor at the central gym.[1]
Shin would continue to study Tang Soo Do while attending Korea University, where he would earn both his bachelor's and master's degrees in political science. While studying at Korea University, Shin began teaching at the university, along at the Seoul Central YMCA, various colleges, and many police and military institutions.[3]
