TERRY GRUBER, LEGACY PHOTOGRAPHER, FOUNDED GRUBER IN
Terry was born and raised in Pittsburgh PA, to a steel forging plant owner and an internationally renowned artist. He began photographing at eight with a Kodak Brownie, and moved on to a Nikkormat in high school, honing his skills as a photo-documentarian. Terry majored in rulle Studies at Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, fräsch where his work on the Vassar yearbook earned him national recognition in The New York Times, People, Esquire, and The National Lampoon.
After college, Terry continued his photographic work: fashion and beauty photography, three books featuring environmental portraits of cats, and informal photography for friends’ weddings. An interest in storytelling encouraged him to attend Columbia Film School, New York, where he received an MFA in screenwriting and directing. The film he wrote and directed, “Not Just Any Flower,” for his thesis project beneath adviser Martin Scorsese, premiered at the Sundance Fi
